About Us
Tony first completed two years of training in the art of hair restoration and soon became a lead trainer to physicians and support staff around the world working with the NeoGraft system. Tony was also one of the first to use the SmartGraft device, the newest and most advanced automated hair restoration technology in the world. Tony has implemented new protocols for existing technologies and has pioneered the use of micro punches on African American patients. To date, along with key opinion leaders in hair restoration, he has trained hundreds of physicians, surgical technicians, nurses and PA’s across 3 countries and has transplanted more than 1 million follicular units.
Tony Bernal has devoted much of his career to training and developing medical assistants for the field of dermatology and hair restoration. Much of his clinical experience and expertise has been acquired during his work experience with some of the most respected dermatologists in the field. He began his career in medicine as a U.S. Army Combat Medic and Surgical Tech, instilling in him the "Can Do" attitude he adheres to daily. After completing his military commitment he began to apply his work ethic by assisting physicians and training medical assistants to go beyond their roles as "helpers" and more so as "performers."
Tony played a significant part in the formation of two very successful dermatology practices in the Dallas, TX area and helped to strengthen various others prior to finding his passion in hair restoration. Tony completed two years of training in the art of hair restoration and soon became the premier lead trainer to physicians working with the NeoGraft and now SmartGraft automated FUE devices.
Tony has surrounded himself with some of the most experienced and talented technicians in the country to form The Pointman Group. "Our goal is simple, to train and support hair restoration physicians and staff on the latest techniques and technologies, scarless hair transplant and fue hair transplant in order to provide the best quality care and outcomes for their patients."
Tony has volunteered in the American Academy of Dermatology Skin Cancer Screening for 13 years, appointed Dermatology Nursing Director for the 2004 DFW Dermatology Society Skin Cancer Screening, Member of the Dermatology Nurses Association (1995-2004), Member of the Association of Dermatology Administrators/Manager (2006), Participant in the Galderma Nurse Advisory Board (2001 & 2002). Tony is a native of Dallas and has been happily married to his wife for 33 years. In his spare time, he enjoys playing football and soccer with his two very active sons.
